After nearly a year of negotiations, LAUSD has not made any significant movement to improve our wages and staffing for student services. To hold the District accountable, our Bargaining Team is asking us for the authority to call for a lawful strike should the district continue to bargain in bad faith and continue to present proposals that disrespect the value we bring to the District. SEIU Local 99 members must vote to authorize a lawful strike. Voting against the strike means you are satisfied with whatever LAUSD offers. Make sure your voice is heard!
Our bargaining team met with LAUSD on Wednesday, November 29. Here's what happened: On Wages The District is still dug-in on their 2% one-time raise and 1% one-time bonus. They basically said that they see no pathway to be able to give us any more. Well, let’s show them the path way. [...]
Our Bargaining Team met with the District on September 27. LAUSD’s negotiator had promised to come back with a “generous” wage proposal. So what did they offer? LAUSD continued to stick to their one-time 2% raise and now they added a 1% one-time bonus. They call this generous? The school board just got a 174% [...]

We’re currently in contract negotiations with LAUSD. Let’s show our Union Strength to beat back cuts, protect and expand good jobs, and win the strong contract [...]

At our bargaining session on June 28, LAUSD presented us with a proposal for a one-time 2% wage increase. 2%, for three years, really? We said, no way. 2% is NOT enough! It’s not enough to raise our families with dignity and stability. It’s not enough for our hard work, our experience, [...]
We had a spirited and emotional Speak-Out in front of LAUSD Headquarters on Tuesday, June 13. And there’s no doubt that it had an impact on our bargaining session on Friday, June 16. One of the first things the LAUSD negotiators said was that the School Board heard us -- and the District is working on a wage proposal to present to us soon. We let them know that we’re looking forward to a fair proposal.
There’s good news to report on our LAUSD contract negotiations. This is Max Arias, SEIU Local 99 Executive Director and Chief Negotiator.
